What is voicemail replacement?

How do you swap voicemail for Leap?
In Leap's forwarding setup, choose "Ring me first". Leap detects your carrier and shows the dial code. On Verizon it is *71 plus your Leap number; on AT&T and T-Mobile it is **004* plus the number and #. Each code has an off code if you want voicemail back.
If you use a virtual number like Google Voice, OpenPhone, Grasshopper or RingCentral, you set forwarding inside that app instead of with a dial code. Leap confirms forwarding works once real calls arrive, and alerts you if none do.

What does a caller hear instead of the beep?
A greeting with your business name, such as "Good afternoon. This is Sophie from Lakeside Dental. How can I help?" You can rename the receptionist and edit the greeting.
From there it answers what it can from your approved information: hours, location, services, published prices, how to book. Anything else becomes a message with the caller's name and number, and Leap does not promise a callback time.

Yes, in ring-first mode. Your phone rings first, and Leap answers only when you're busy or miss it. You can switch to forwarding every call when you want Leap to answer everything.
What replaces the voicemail message I used to get?
A summary sent by text, email or both, with the caller's name, what they wanted and the callback number. The recording and transcript are in the Leap inbox.
What if a caller needs a person, not a message?
You can turn on live transfer and set the number. During office hours, Leap tries one transfer and you hear who is calling and why before you press 1. When the office is closed, it takes a message.
What about callers who hang up at the greeting?

Can I keep a voicemail box for some calls?
Forwarding is set on your phone line, so it applies to the calls your carrier forwards. Dial the off code to return those calls to voicemail at any time.

You can turn on Spanish, or up to two languages alongside English. Leap switches when the caller speaks a language you have turned on.
